Losing a minute every two years: SRG X-ray view of the rapidly accelerating X-ray pulsar SXP 1323

چکیده

SXP 1323 is a peculiar high-mass X-ray binary located in the Small Magellanic Cloud, renowned for its rapid spin-up. We investigate first time broadband properties of SXP1323, as observed by Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC and eRosita telescopes on board SRG observatory. Using eRosita, data we produced 1-20 keV spectrum estimated pulsed fraction above 8 keV. With addition archival XMM-Newton observations traced evolution spin period over last five years found that after 2016 source switched to linear spin-up with rate -29.9 s yr$^{-1}$. Broadband typical accreting pulsars, steep powerlaw index ($\Gamma$=-0.15) exponential cutoff energy 5.1 No significant difference between spectra obtained states without pulsations were found.

Forty Years of X-Ray Binaries

In 2012 it was forty years ago that the discovery of the first X-ray binary Centaurus X-3 became known. That same year it was discovered that apart from the High-Mass X-ray Binaries (HMXBs) there are also Low-Mass X-ray Binaries (LMXBs), and that Cygnus X-1 is most probably a black hole. By 1975 also the new class of Be/X-ray binaries was discovered. After this it took 28 years before ESAs INTE...

An X - ray study of the dipping low mass X - ray binary XB 1323 − 619

During a BeppoSAX observation of the lowmass X-ray binary dip source XB1323−619 a total of 10 type I X-ray bursts and parts of 12 intensity dips were observed. During non-bursting, non-dipping intervals, the 1.0–150 keV BeppoSAX spectrum can be modelled by a cutoff power-law with a photon index of 1.48± 0.01, a cutoff energy of 44.1 −4.4 keV together with a blackbody with kT of 1.77± 0.25 keV c...

X-ray and Infrared Enhancement of Anomalous X-ray Pulsar

The long-term ( 1.5 yr) X-ray enhancement and the accompanying infrared enhancement light curves of the anomalous X-ray pulsar 1E 2259+586 following the major bursting epoch can be accounted for by the relaxation of a fallback disk that has been pushed back by a gamma-ray flare. The required burst energy estimated from the results of our model fits is low enough for such a burst to have remaine...

A radio pulsar/x-ray binary link.

Radio pulsars with millisecond spin periods are thought to have been spun up by the transfer of matter and angular momentum from a low-mass companion star during an x-ray-emitting phase. The spin periods of the neutron stars in several such low-mass x-ray binary (LMXB) systems have been shown to be in the millisecond regime, but no radio pulsations have been detected. Here we report on detectio...
